On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Abigail Reff, the former Abigail Johnson.
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: I am originally from Texas, but graduated from Union University in 2020 with a degree in music. After I graduated, I moved back in with my parents for a while (every college graduate’s dream), then moved to Louisville in January 2021 to attend Southern. I now work as an admissions counselor for Boyce and just married Isaac Reff on September 3!!
Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC
A: I have been at Ninth and O since I moved to Louisville. I’ve been actively involved in the worship ministry for the majority of the time I’ve been here, singing in the choir, on the praise team, and leading the youth choir. I love it all! Ninth and O is one of the biggest reasons Louisville has become so homey for me.
Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: I moved to Washington, DC, my senior year of high school to help with a church plant!
Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?
A: My Mom has been such a sweet example to me of a woman following Jesus, especially when we moved to DC. She has displayed what it looks like to regularly be in the Word, serve the church, and love on and disciple others. Plus, she’s just fun to be around! I am so thankful for her guidance and friendship in my life.
Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?
A: I have been challenged this past year to not get swept up in what the culture has to say about certain things, but to pursue what the Lord has said and His truth. Specifically, I’ve been working on memorizing Psalm 1 and reminding myself that the man who prospers is the one who delights in the law of the Lord and meditates on it day and night. I’ve been challenged to know the Word of God and evaluate everything through the lens of scripture before believing the popular opinions floating around me, and have found that there is so much freedom in knowing Truth.
