On Mondays, we’ll take time to meet the women of NAOBC. Five questions followed by how you can connect with the NAOBC women on social media. Today’s interview is with Natalie Evers.
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: My husband Joshua and I have a 15-month-old daughter and a son due in April. We moved to Louisville, Kentucky, from Mobile, Alabama in, June 2022. I’m primarily a stay at home mom, but I’m also a birth doula and a freelance editor!
Q: Tell us about your time at NAOBC
A: We’ve been at NAOBC since we moved to Louisville in June. Our BFG is YC7 and we love it! I serve in the nursery/preschool.
Q: What is a fun fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: I’m kind of a jack-of-all-trades; I know a little bit about a lot of random things. I have a Bachelors degree in math, a Masters degree in English Literature, I’ve taught on most levels from elementary to college, I worked for a recovery ministry; I’ve built furniture with just hand tools, I edit books, and I support women in labor. I have a diverse set of interests, I guess.
Q: What woman has made the most impact in your life?
A: I think I have to go with my friend, Bethany Hebbard. I’ve known her almost ten years and in that time I’ve watched her go through great successes and great struggles. She’s a dedicated wife, loving mother, and faithful servant of the Kingdom of God. She’s a woman whose faith, creativity, intelligence, and homemaking skills I admire and strive to emulate. When I think of a “Proverbs 31 woman,” she comes to mind.
Q: What is something the Lord has taught you in the last year?
A: The past year, the Lord has really been showing me that His plans and His timing are far better than anything I had in mind. We had no plan to move to Kentucky this time last year, but within two weeks of it coming on our radar, we had plans to move. I was content to live in Alabama all my life and yet moving here was by far the best thing for us. We’ve grown so much in our short time here at NAOBC and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and I can’t wait to see what else the Lord has in store in the coming months and years.
